She plays and she plays hard.

Of course, as the enlightened and progressive parents that we are, we have made sure to provide Little Bear with non gender-specific toys her whole life. The thing is, she likes her dollhouse and cooking set more than her trucks and blocks. Which is fine. It’s quite amusing watching her play with her “babies” (read: Calico Critters) here or her dollhouse at Grandma and Grandpa’s. And as soon as you think anything in your life is private, invite a toddler over and ask her to role play. The mommy and daddy kiss a lot. Also, the daddy spends lots of time in the bathroom. To be fair, the mommy is always leaving for work so there you go.

On a side note, the other day she was playing with her real size toys… kitchen, baby doll, stroller, etc. She said “Seeyoulaer!” and walked towards the (real) front door. Then she threw her hands up, said “KEYS” and went back to get her keys. Just. Like. Me.

In any case, Little Bear’s papa did build her a train table for Christmas and that’s become a new favorite. It’s nice to see her going from her dolls, to Thomas, and back again. At least for now, her interests are varied.

Except, of course, that Thomas keeps losing his keys…
